BAG HAVEN

Dear friends,

The last couple of weeks have had me all consumed in a hunt for the perfect handbag.

Shopbop is always my go to, and with so many goodies I'm finding it terribly difficult to decide. I have however, managed to narrow my shortlist of favourite down to five.

Now it's over to you, I need your help - which is your favourite?

Man Fashion: Emporio Armani F/W 2011 Collection

This season, Emporio Armani is plunging into realistic urban townscape. In fine shading of grey and taupe, the collection offers a vision of urban dressing that escalates the collection into a whole new level of modern elegance. Special attention was given to coats with deconstructed silhouettes, slim fitting and occasionally paired with a waistcoat that looks best at mid-calf length.

Armani's signature nylon and quilting are replaced with a range of wools, nubuck sheepskin and leather to reassure the brand's sense of solidity. The collection is expressed with a forceful confidence and a hints of eccentricity. The leather harness cum waistcoat is genius creation, a very sexy way to display and define the male form.

Meeting the Team: Christina Williamson

Christina joined the Emily Weddings team in April of 2010, and has sincerely loved every minute of it.

She graduated from Old Dominion University in 2005 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. The knowledge she gained in these areas of study have truly helped in understanding the different types of people and families and cultures she comes across when working on a variety of weddings.

Christina is a “girly girl” in every way and has been obsessed with all things wedding for as long as she can remember. “My DVR is constantly overflowing with wedding shows. It sometimes takes me months to catch up, but I record everything because I don’t want to miss anything that has to do with weddings!”

She is very organized and loves making sure all of the details are in place for the bride’s special day. “It is such a rush to see the months of time and preparation come together and make our bride’s dreams come true.”

Christina was so excited when she got the opportunity to meet with Emily and begin working in the field she loves. When she got engaged in June of 2010, it only heightened her interest in planning and coordinating all of the details that go into a beautiful event. Christina had the opportunity to be the lead coordinator for a fellow Emily Weddings team member in November of 2010, and was lucky enough to have her fellow team members coordinate her own wedding just this past September 2011!

From the flowers to the linens to the wedding dress itself, Christina loves everything that goes into a wedding, and it is absolutely a pleasure for her to work in such a fun environment, with such great people!

Q & A with Christina:

What is your favorite part of a wedding?

"My favorite part of a wedding is absolutely when the bride and groom see each other for the first time. Whether it is a “first look” or its as the bride is coming down the aisle to meet her groom, watching the looks on their faces always puts a smile on my face and tears in my eyes."

What is your favorite season for a wedding?

"My favorite season for a wedding is in the fall. The temperature is mild, the leaves are beautiful, and you can dance outside all night without breaking a sweat. Just make sure you always have a backup plan in case of rain!!!"

What is your favorite bouquet flower?

"My favorite flower is hydrangea. They come in such beautiful colors, and they are classic and beautiful, but also big and bold enough to make a statement. I used hydrangea in my wedding centerpieces and bouquets and they looked absolutely stunning."

What to wear when you're at 30’s – a fashion statement.

Have you ever thought about it, what looks stylish and what doesn’t when you cross the 30’s.

I don’t signify there’s something like "rules" but I think there are things that -even if you have a nice body to pull them off, it begin to look kinda when you grow up.

I came across the comments like “long hair looks bad over 30”, but I really don’t think so... It is odd how opinion changes. When you’re 20 you are sure what a 30 something shouldn’t wear, but when you are there you begin to wonder, as you don’t see yourself really different, but everybody’s insight about you really does.

I personally believe in,
“Someone who accepts their age is more appealing than someone who tries to dress younger.”

In a magazine I noted some thing related to this,

Early 30's need not to bother about it so much. But......after the age of 34 (this seems to be THE year where it all starts) you need to actually take a look at yourself. Liz Hurley could pull off what she wore in her early 30's but now she’s 39........she just cant in the way she used to, it looks sort of wannabe young again even though its only a few years difference.

And I finally go with the words of my friend, in fact you may too agree with it,

“You look younger it’s a rather pitiful compliment.
You look great! That’s a great one...”
(In the sense of dressing)

Thank you.

The time is finally here oh yes...The Wayward Winter look book is finally out! Mahhhhh I have been itching to release these mind blowing photos forever now it seems like! We had a killer team as usual!!! Behind the lens Daniel Kincaid, who is the genius behind our night and day concept! Karina Moore my artist at large who did both hair and make up....oh how she killed it with those fiery red lids woah!!!  Valeria Efanova the bad ass model who is part rock star and part comedian (who woulda thought?)! Oh and there is lil ol me who despite it all whips out outfits that are kinda amazing to my surprise! I had a major jewelry moment with this shoot thanks to two new brands I am stoked to carry, Luv AJ and Danni Jo! All of the clothing for winter is yum yum especially our novelty knits and shaggy jackets and I can't wait to get my hands on all of it! I'll post the night portion of the look book soon...stay tuned!
